Standard Conditioning (Every Wash)

Step 1: Prepare Hair After Shampooing

After thoroughly rinsing your FUL Colour Care Shampoo, gently squeeze excess water from hair using your hands. Don't rough-dry with a towel as coloured hair is most vulnerable when wet. Hair should be damp but not dripping—this allows conditioner to penetrate optimally without being diluted by excessive water.

Step 2: Apply to Mid-Lengths and Ends

Dispense a generous amount of conditioner (size depends on hair length and thickness—start with a walnut-sized amount for shoulder-length hair). Apply primarily to mid-lengths and ends where hair is oldest, most damaged, and needs the most conditioning. These areas have experienced more chemical processing, heat styling, and environmental exposure than roots.

For very dry or damaged coloured hair, you can apply lightly to roots as well, though most people find roots don't need as much conditioning since they're newer growth. Avoid heavy application directly on scalp unless hair is extremely dry overall, as this can make roots look flat or greasy.

Step 3: Distribute Evenly and Massage

Use your fingers or a wide-tooth comb to distribute conditioner evenly through every strand. This ensures comprehensive coverage and helps detangle gently while hair is protected by the conditioning formula. Gently massage conditioner through hair, focusing on areas that feel particularly dry, rough, or damaged.

Step 4: Allow Processing Time

Leave conditioner on for 2-3 minutes minimum. This contact time allows the active ingredients to penetrate, the moisture complex to hydrate deeply, the proteins to bind and repair, and the anti-fade actives to create their protective shield. For extra conditioning, especially if hair is very damaged, extend processing time to 5-10 minutes.

Step 5: Rinse Thoroughly with Cool Water

Rinse completely with lukewarm to cool water—not hot. Cool water helps close cuticles completely, sealing in the conditioning benefits and colour protection. Rinse until water runs clear and hair feels clean but silky, not slippery with residue. Proper rinsing prevents buildup while maintaining the conditioning benefits.

The Result: Hair feels immediately softer, smoother, and more manageable. Colour looks richer and more vibrant because cuticles are sealed and moisture is restored. The glass-like shine is visible even before styling.

Intensive Treatment (Weekly)

For extra repair and colour protection, use this intensive technique once weekly:

Extended Processing: After applying conditioner generously, cover hair with a shower cap to trap heat. Leave for 10-15 minutes. The warmth helps actives penetrate more deeply for intensive repair.

Focus on Damage: Apply extra conditioner to the most damaged areas—usually ends and any heavily bleached or processed sections. These zones need maximum repair and protection.

Steam Enhancement: If possible, apply conditioner before showering, then allow shower steam to warm hair while conditioner processes. The gentle heat enhances penetration without damaging hair.
